Our mission is to inspire parents to not use the notion of ‘being a parent’ as an excuse but instead to be energetically empowered in this role to lead, role model and excel in health and life.
What motivated you to follow this path and start this website?
Simple. Our kids.
We want to be active parents who teach their children to approach each day passionately, strive to take care of all aspects of their being and to live life to the fullest.
Too often being a parent results in sacrificing one’s own health and passions in the efforts to support or manage their kids lives. With the huge focus that parents give to their children, they often accept physical decline and exhaustion as unavoidable.
We believe that parents can and should feel great, enjoy their own lives and be able to fully support their children at the same time. By using a holistic approach that focuses on a cohesive family health philosophy, not only will each individual be better off but the family as a whole will enjoy increased wellness.
Think of the oxygen mask pre-flight safety announcement on an airplane. First take care of yourself, so you CAN take care of someone else.
We’ve been through this ourselves. From working too many hours and focusing more on earning and providing than on self-care and well-being, we hit a wall. We were tired, out of shape and managing one day at a time. From once being full of energy, we ended up struggling not only with fatigue and extra weight but significant health issues.
These challenges brought us to a turning point. In order to move forward, we had to take responsibility for our own health and change the way we lived.
This led us to incredible insights into the power we all have to live younger, healthier, and happier. Through our journey back to health we became reenergized and learned to thrive as parents.
From this we realized that this is more common than not and other parents could benefit from the transformation that we went through. We want to give parents the energy they didn’t know they had – so they can become thriving parents.
How can you help other parents?
“…I always tell people about you and how you maintain your health – How well you balance all the needs within your family so that each person is happier and healthier. And that while you live with life-threatening allergies you have a well-rounded point of view of food & lifestyle.”

We are coming from a background as qualified educators and health coaches while also being parents who have faced health challenges successfully. Our training and experience gives us the skills and knowledge to provide effective strategies while understanding what parents go through on a daily basis.
What makes us unique is the fact that we offer our knowledge through the perspectives of both male and female, husband and wife, father and mother as well as individuals who’ve gone through our own issues. Often ‘health gurus’ haven’t faced their own health struggles or shared their challenges with a spouse or raised children or been trained as educators…or even more rarely, combined all of those things successfully.
While we don’t consider ourselves gurus, we do have a deep knowledge through continuously learning and keeping an open mind. We do believe in questioning conventional knowledge when it doesn’t yield the desired results. By being critical thinkers and enduring real life lessons, we bring a true understanding of what works in practice and not just in theory.
What’s the single best health advice you can give parents?
Let’s go with two things.
One simple and easy thing a parent can do is to take a good quality multi-vitamin. No matter how well you eat, the food produced today is not the same quality as it was and is no longer full of nutrients. Taking a good multivitamin is an insurance policy and something everyone can do.
One simple and easy thing a parent can do is to take a good quality multi-vitamin. No matter how well you eat, the food grown and produced today is not the same quality as it was and is no longer full of nutrients. Taking a good multivitamin is an insurance policy against deficiencies and something everyone can do easily.
The second thing we would suggest is to become a student again. Dig up an old passion that has been put away and start doing it again. It could be playing music, writing, drawing, trying a new activity, sport or yoga class. Spending at least 5 minutes each day engaged in something that you love will ignite a fire in you that will spread to other parts of your life.
What is your health philosophy?
We follow a holistic approach to life, engaging the mind, body and spirit. We believe the physical body is the base of a person’s well-being. It is the vessel that carries you around all day. If your physical body is out of balance, other areas of your life will be too. You will lack the energy and motivation to move through each day with a joie de vive that will keep you going for years. No matter how important the mind and spirit are, a compromised body, from pain, dis-ease or immobility, limits the heights you can reach in your non-physical life.
Too many times we see parents who devalue their complete well-being and don’t make the time to take care of themselves.
We did this ourselves!
This results in chronic stressors such as lack of sleep, poor eating habits, regular alcohol consumption, lack of movement and more. The body can only take so much stress before something starts to give. It may be the adrenal glands, the digestive system, the development of an autoimmune disease, weight gain or something else. The negative effect that this has on an individual life and a family can be devastating.
We help people to regain a healthy balance in their physical body and teach them strategies that will work in their busy lives. The core foundation of our work begins with proper nutrition, movement, and recovery. Once the body starts to respond, energy levels go up and our clients begin to make major shifts in their overall lives.
How did the two of you meet?
We met working as wilderness guides in northern Ontario, Canada. We would take groups of diverse populations out on multi-day whitewater canoe trips. It was a blast. We got to know each other in the midst of teaching people skills and developing teamwork while keeping them safe in a dynamic environment deep in the wilderness. You get to know someone really well quickly when adventure, safety, and demanding physical and mental situations are a regular occurrence.
How did your journey take you to health coaching?
We transitioned from the wilderness to teaching, earning degrees in education. We both worked in the school system in Toronto. Brad taught students with behavioral issues and I worked at a specialized school for students with diverse exceptionalities.
After several years and the birth of our first daughter, Brad moved into the corporate world where he worked with aesthetic and medical devices. This lead to him to create his own consulting company and brokerage. He put his energies into this while I stayed home to support our daughter’s well-being in dealing with her multiple severe food allergies.
After I returned to work and when we both started having health issues, our deep interest in holistic and alternative health grew. We had spent years personally researching nutrition, fitness and health, however, we were motivated to go further. We studied holistic nutrition and wellness. And it quickly became our passion. As we started healing ourselves we gained energy and major shifts started to happen. We could see that we weren’t the only parents dealing with these struggles and we wanted to help others reenergize and feel their best.
